Auction description:
1967 Jaguar S-Type 3.8-Litre Saloon
International Historic Motorsport Show, Bonhams (25th February 2006)

This 3.8-litre S-Type has the desirable four-speed manual/overdrive gearbox. We are advised that the car was restored in the UK before being exported to Japan, from whence it returned to these shores in December 2004, forming part of a private collection since then. Driven to the sale from London at a brisk pace, it comes complete with spare wheel, jack and sundry tools, and is offered with road fund licence to September 2006, MoT to June 2006 and Swansea V5 registration document.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
