Opening bid $3,500, no bids yet 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $5,499.

    Sellers description:
I purchased this beautiful classic a few years ago with the hopes of restoring it. It wasn't running when I bought it. But my mechanic and someone who knows quite a bit about these cars said that it probably just needs a part on the carburetor (jet assembly). It also needs a new driver's side window (was shattered so remaoved) and new tires. It is a BEAUTIFUL car that reminds me of a Rolls Royce, very classy. It is also very unique in that it is Right-Hand-Drive. When I had the car shipped to me, the driver said that it got lots of looks and people were interested in buying it from him. I really hate to let her go. This car is so important to me that I kept the information from when I purchased it. And I purchased a parts book. Here is the original description, true to the best of my knowledge:

71,000 miles, 4 door, Automatic, V8, 1965 No warranty, No VIN, Clear title, Gunmetal/Blue exterior "1965 Daimler 2.5 Sports Sedan, RHD, 70,778 miles, two-tone exterior. Same owner past 11 years. Body in good shape. Blue leather interior w/ updated camel cloth front seat. This is the sister car to the Jag Mark II of the same era (body and interior same but Daimler engine and running gear). It is one of only 12,376 RHD V-8 built b/w 1962-68. The car has a detailed shop manual from Jag England. The car is not presently running due to lack of use of late. It will need fuel replaced. Within the past few years it has had new twin carburetors installed, new brakes, transmission serviced, and other mechanical work. Over $10,000.00 invested. Car ran b/f putting it into storage, but was sluggish. It could be revived into an interesting daily driver or parted out. Not a likely candidate for show-quality restoration. Would characterize condition as fair to good."

Apparently this guy bought it from another guy in Austin who was liquidating his classics collection. Like him, I don't know much about this car except she's a beauty. This guy suggested that his mechanic said it needed a starter. I know it needs a battery, but they are easy to find b/c I bought one. He also said that the front suspension needs work and that he doesn't knows if the A/C worked. I beg to differ that this car cannot be restored to show quality. And I've seen these and the S-type go for $55-76,000.00 restored. This car also needs a paint job. I realize the paint flaws don't really show in the pics. I am absolutely available to show this car to anyone in the area. But, the pics don't lie.

This is a very nice project car. It was stored in TX since the late 90's. The engine runs nicely and it shifts in gear. The paint work is faded & peeling in parts owing to being stored in high temperatures in TX. Visually the body has no sign of rust or repair except for a small rust spot on the left rear door. All the doors close with a tight fit and the door bottoms are clean and the sills are solid. The frame is very solid. The trunk is clean with a few spots of surface rust which you will see by the pics. All the chrome is in excellent condition. The brakes are in working order and there are five brand new tires. All the wood trimmings on doors and panels are sanded off and ready for finishing. There are new parts still in boxes which consist of new seals for the windshield and rear window and some other parts. It's been reupholstered sometime in the past which still looks good. Please remember this is a project car. It already has antique plates and a clear title in my name.

Opening bid $3,000 reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Winsted, Connecticut. Previous auction ended at $3,051.01 after 20 bids.

    Sellers description:
This car is in total need of a Full restoration, it's a project car. I purchased it in December with the intent of restoring it now that I am retired. However, my wife, bless her, bought me a Jensen Interceptor for my 65th birthday, and you all know that you NEVER say no to the wifey. Anyway I have to let the Daimler go, sadly.
Anyone familiar with these cars knows that they are in essence a Jaguar MK2 in disguise. The Daimler was a more luxurious version of Jaguar's MK2. They came with a small capacity Hemi V8, instead of a straight 6, with Automatic transmission as standard. Very few had a manual.

I have a clear Tennessee title for the car. I never registered it.
