A Jaguar sedan with elegance unmatched since 1959

The old Jaguar Coluche sold by a Paris collector for the benefit of Restos du Coeur

The model that we present was the car of the most famous humorist and French comedian, Michel Colucci said Coluche, died too early June 19, 1986 in a motorcycle accident. Amateur of beautiful mechanics he buys this Jaguar Mark II equipped with the six-cylinder 3.4l associated with a 3-speed automatic gearbox on September 20, 1980. The car is then registered at 56 rue du Montparnasse in the 14th arrondissement of Paris and carries the registration 494 DEA 75. Alternately provocative or agitator by his social standings, he was anxious to keep abreast of the news and will have a sophisticated radio installed with state-of-the-art equalizer (which she still possesses) can one read in the catalog of the sale of the time. Coluche will separate 5 years later on July 16, 1985 for the benefit of its third owner, a collector of the Dordogne, according to the sales expert at the time Jean-Michel Cérède.

Ordered new by a doctor of Val de Marne in its elegant gray anthracite metallic color "Regent Gray" with a gray leather interior and matching carpet, we know that the engine was fully restored in 1991 following a flashback to the carburetor. A new engine block was ordered in England, the gearbox changed, the paint redone, the woods refinished, the carpets and leathers of the front seats replaced. His 4th and current owner Patrick Choay, scientist and director for more than 30 years of the CCD laboratory specializing in the field of women's health, bought it at an auction in Paris in December 1994. Collector, he shares the same passion as Coluche for beautiful mechanics and appreciates the comedian as such. He will always devote a lot of care to his English to preserve its authenticity. In 2001, the car was completely overhauled at Steel Motors Home in Puteaux. The following year, the refurbishment of the fuel system including the change of pumps and the replacement of the tank is performed at the Pro Car space. A final invoice attached to the file indicates a major revision for more than € 760 in 2006, which implies a regular maintenance.

Counting today 30 030 km on the meter, the car is sent to Atelier Arès whose reputation is well established for a restart. A little over € 5,000 are invested: Engine, gearbox, fuel pump, water pump, brakes, steering ball joints and wheel bearings, silent blocs, filters and fluids, etc ... everything is replaced to revive this sleeping beauty .
Returning to the front of the stage after 24 years of loyal service, this Jaguar is Coluche's first car to be sold for the benefit of the Restos du Coeur. "I bought this car not because I wanted a Jaguar but because it was Coluche! An artist with a big heart ". Thank his owner for this very nice donation made to the benefit of this association created by Coluche there is already 33 years!
