Ebay item 9/27/14 www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-Saloon-1961-jaguar-mk-2-saloon-3-4-l-4-speed-car-s ...
Opening bid US $1,961 reserve not met, no bids 9 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
Original European "Get Away Car!"
Stunning Two Tone Paint Job!
Beautiful Interior!
Owned by the Same Owner Since 1991!
4L Inline 6 Cylinder!
Very Desirable U.S Market 4-Speed Manual with Function Overdrive!
MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present the exquisite 1961 Jaguar Mark II you see pictured. The Jaguar you see here is an exceptional example of Jaguar's Mark II Saloon. This car epitomizes the Jaguar standard of "Grace, Space and Pace." This car was owned by the former owner for over 23 years where it was lovingly doted over and it looks absolutely superb.
The custom silver and charcoal metallic paintwork highlights the classic design of this "Big Cat." The color combination is absolutely stunning and sure to cause many double takes for years to come! The paint is in beautiful condition, showing minimal imperfections such as very small rock chips. The chrome trim is in excellent condition with no pitting, dents or major scratches. It should be noted that the door handles show very early stages of pitting, as they appear original, however; they both still show very well. Both rear fender skirts are in great condition and solid as is the rest of the body. This Mark even has all of the original lights on the front of the sedan to give it that authentic touch or a conversation starter at Concours d' Elegance!
Inside, the seats are in wonderful condition. The blue leather interior appears to be in original shape and allow you to sit deep in the seats and enjoy the ride. The seats show only minor signs of wear, most likely due to normal driving. Same goes for the comfortable back seat. The matching carpet, door panels and tan headliner are all in great shape as well. The headliner does show minor stitching imperfections but still shows very well. The dashboard is also in beautiful condition, housing original Smiths gauges. The wood trim inside the car looks great with no cracking or fading to it.
Under the hood you will find a true XK 3.4L inline 6 cylinder engine attached to a VERY desirable U.S. Market 4-speed manual transmission with functional overdrive. Not many European Mark II's that came to the States were equipped with the 4-speed manual, making this a much more fetching Jag. This car is an EXCELLENT driver with the powerful 3.4L and manual transmission that ensures maximum enjoyment as a true driver's classic. The Jag sits upon a set of paint matched 15″ steel wheels with chrome Jaguar hub caps and beauty rings wrapped in 6.70-15 BF Goodrich Silvertown white wall tires, which look absolutely smashing!
This Jaguar would make a beautiful addition to any European collection or as a Sunday driver. The car is sure to attract attention anywhere it goes and will be a winner at any car show! The VIN is 177237 and the mileage currently shows 95,855. It is being sold on a clean and clear title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
