Car was at auction in '07

    Auction description:
    Body colour: Golden Sand
    Date Manufactured: 1967
    Registration Number: NRC 959E
    Chassis Number: 121265DN
    Engine Number: BJ7591-8
    Engine: cc: 2483
    History:
This late example was first registered in May 1967, just a year before Mk2 production came to an end. Invoices in the history file show that the car had some bodywork restoration in 1993 and a respray in the original Golden Sand at a cost of £8,200. In the current ownership for the last 11 years, the car has seen show use only during this time and has always been garaged and never used in the wet.

The 46,984 miles on the clock is believed to be genuine and is partially supported by a long run of MOTs back to 1981 when the mileage was 34,654. The car has recently been treated to new front springs and shock absorbers at renowned Jaguar specialists, CMC of Bridgnorth. A new brake servo and handbrake cable were also fitted and all four calipers fully rebuilt with rust-resistant chrome inserts. We noted that the bite point on the clutch pedal is rather high on this car but the owner states that the free play at the slave cylinder is correct and the clutch does not slip. Being a late car, the gearbox is the desirable all-synchromesh unit rather than the graunchy Moss box of old.

The optional Ambla interior on this car has worn exceptionally well and is in fine condition, admirably complementing the very straight and glossy coachwork. Altogether a most impressive looking car that is guaranteed to attract admirers wherever it goes.
