Car was at auction 9/13
classiccars.brightwells.com/viewdetails.php

Auction description:
Lot number 109
Hammer value N/S (est. £9,000 - £11,000)
Description Jaguar MkII 2.4 MOD
Registration NWP 146E
Year 1967
Colour British Racing Green
Engine size 2,483 cc
Chassis No. 120643DN
Engine No. BJ690018

First registered in January 1967, this particular 2.4 manual overdive has had just two owners from new, being in the current ownership since 1981. When acquired it had some 70,000 miles on the clock (as verified by old MOT certificates), a total which has now only risen to around 78,000 miles.

The car appears to be in largely original condition throughout with a nicely patinated green leather interior with picnic tables in the back. Always kept garaged in the current ownership it is said to drive well and certainly fired up promptly and ran nicely as we moved it to take these photos. Recently fitted with four new tyres, it is currently taxed with an MOT until August 2014 and is due to be driven some 50 miles to the sale.

1967 Jaguar 2.4/240

Estimate: £3,000-4,000

Registration Number NWP146E

Engine Size 2483CC

Engine Number BJ690018

Chassis Number 120643DN

VAT Status No VAT

Documents No Paperwork or Keys. Tool Kit in Store.

Tax and MOT exempt

Restoration project; showing only 78,406 miles; 2.4-litre straight-six with manual gearbox; barn find

This 1967 barn find example is most definitely the entry point into MKII Jaguar ownership, being one of the last 2.4 models before the model change to the 240. We have no paperwork for this vehicle and the V5C will need to be applied for using the V62 form.

No attempt to start or run the vehicle has been made, but it does roll.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
