Superbly restored Jaguar Mark II sport saloon

Beautifully presented example
Having owned a Mark II many years ago and keen to relive his youth, the current Sydney owner, a former racing driver and long-time Jaguar enthusiast tracked down the best example he could find, albeit one with a few concessions to make it more usable in 21st Century traffic. Sourcing this beautifully restored example in Queensland, he found a car that ticked every box – a fully restored body with excellent panel fit and duco, upgraded interior from a Series 3 Jaguar XJ6, air conditioning, power steering and a modern five-speed manual gearbox. The vendor understands the body was done around 15 years ago and still looks good today, with excellent chrome and the paint finish is virtually unmarked. Using a torquier 4.2-litre block, the engine was evidently rebuilt to a high standard approximately 2,000 miles ago, boasting 2-inch carburettors and electronic ignition, along with upgraded brakes. Showing 56,405 miles on the clock at the time of cataloguing and freshly serviced by Classic Automobilia in preparation for sale, this Mark II presents in lovely condition; it starts on the button, runs and drives well and has all the creature comforts to cope with modern driving conditions. Supplied with an original handbook and full tool kit, the Jaguar is currently registered on non-transferable historic plates in NSW and will therefore be sold unregistered.
