Sellers description:
Home restoration. This Jaguar belongs to my father, who purchased it from a large estate back in 2000. He had plans to restore it, but due to health issues, was not able to do so. With that said, I will give as much info as I know. As stated above, this vehicle was purchased from a estate here in the Upstate of South Carolina in 2000. It was in dry storage for approx 20 years prior to purchase. Since my father took ownership, it has been stored indoors as well. This Jag is very original, with the exception of the paint. To the best of my knowledge, all numbers match. It has the original 3.8 engine and manual transmission with electric overdrive. The miles are actual at 81,891. This vehicle is VERY solid for a Jaguar of this vintage. As stated above, the body has been painted sometime in the past. It looks like the color was changed from a light blue to this dark blue.I have found no major rust damage, however, it looks like it may have a little filler in 2 or 3 spots. I personally had the car on a lift today, and the chassis, bulkhead and undercarriage are in very nice shape with no holes/damage. All trim, glass etc are super nice!! Check out the grill~!!! The interior is also in nice shape. It looks as good, if not better, in person. As for the engine, this is the information my father was given.....A bolt was dropped into the engine via the distributor housing when it was last serviced. The mechanic could not retrieve it, and to the best of my knowledge, it was never found. The engine will not turn over as we speak. I have no idea if this is because of the bolt, or just due to sitting for years and years. I have my bet on the latter. Anyway, you cant drive it home!!! For the reason listed above, it has never been driven in his ownership. The transmission feels fine sitting still...IE gears etc. The brakes will need the typical work. As you can see in the pics, a complete set of factory spoke wheels and tires will be included with the sell. He also has a fuel injected 3.8 Jaguar engine and automatic transmission with 70,000 miles that will be included also. Basically, anything Jaguar that he has will be included with this auction. The boot of this car is full of parts as well. (most of it being the parts removed under the hood...Radiator, filter housing etc) In closing, this is a great southern car to restore. You don't find these things on every corner. I have listed all that I am aware of. Clean South Carolina title ready for transfer. The car is located in Anderson, South Carolina approx 110 miles north/east of Atlanta or 130 miles south of Charlotte, NC. This vehicle is being sold AS-IS. Pre-bid inspection is allowed by appointment only. No reserve, so bid to buy!!

I have had a few fellow users say this vehicle is not an MK2. As the ad states, this vehicle belongs to my father. It was my understanding that it was an MK2, but maybe I was wrong. One guy said it was actually an "S" Type. I have no idea for sure either way. Quite a few photos are listed, so you guys can see what it is. I will list all model numbers that I have, and hopefully, this will help.....BODY-4B53408. ENGINE-7B53392-9. Gear Box-JBN013. Sorry for the confusion!!!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
