Ebay item 12/18/09
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jaguar-MK-IX-59-MARK-IX-FORD-INLINE-6-CYLINDER-NEW-INTER ...
Current bid $5,150 reserve not met, 13 bids 9 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
The paint on the car is in very good condition and shows nicely. There are some imperfections but none of which are major. Just some scratches and checking to the lacquer paint. The chrome trim does show some minor pitting but the front and rear bumpers are both in excellent condition with no dents or major scratches. There is a small dent to the passenger side rear wheel well as you can see in the photos. Both fender skirts are in great condition and solid as is the rest of the body.

Inside, the seats have been reupholstered and are in very good condition. The door panels, carpet and headliner have also been redone to match the seats and are in very good condition. The two wood slats on the steering wheel that are missing in the photos have been glued back on and look fine. The rest of the wood trim inside the car looks great with no major cracking or fading to any of it. There has been a small center console added under the aftermarket A/C vents which includes the automatic shifter.

Under the hood there has been an inline 6 cylinder Ford engine installed to improve reliability and to make the car easier to work on. The car runs great and does have A/C which is a very nice touch. It is connected to an automatic transmission that shifts fine and performs as it should. On the road the car drives good but does have some play in the front end. This does not make it un-drivable by any means though and is typical of a 50 year old vehicle.

The wheels are in good condition and are wrapped with newer bias ply tires. Underneath, the car is solid with no rot that we can see. Being down in Texas most of its life, preserved the underside of the car very well. The current mileage shows 88,000 and the VIN number is 791161BW.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
