This is a stunning Jaguar SS100 Replica built on a 1948 Jaguar Mk IV chassis. It is fitted with a professionally built aluminum body over wooden framing with glass guards ( taken from an original set).
Suspension is as per original; while the brakes have been uprated to hydraulic and the steering converted to recirculating ball.
The engine is a 3.5 liter XK completely overhauled (5344 miles) and fitted with a b head. This drives through a Moss gearbox with close ration first. This combination gives strong performance, effortless cruising and huge torque.
The body is professionally finished in BRG with red leather seats and red cut pile carpets. There is a full hood (very effective) and a full tonneau cover finished in black mohair material , all in as new condition.
The headlights, side lights, fog lights, windscreen, side mirrors and tail lights(Lucas Ghost ) are all period correct.
This car would be hard to tell from the original but has sensible upgrades that make it very usable. It was valued at NZD 150,000.00 in 2010 and an original SS100 in similar excellent condition would sell for 200,000.00 pounds plus making this car very good value..
Asking price: $160,000
